Urla’s relationship with wine goes back to antiquity: olive oil and wine workshops found at ancient sites show that this land has lived with vines and olives for thousands of years. Today that tradition lives on along the Urla Wine Route (Bağ Yolu).
What is the Wine Route?
The route runs through Urla’s inland villages, especially around Kuşçular and Yağcılar, connecting boutique wineries, vineyard houses, restaurants and places to stay. Many producers offer tastings, vineyard tours and harvest events.
Along the route
- Boutique producers such as Urla Şarapçılık and USCA, alongside small family vineyards
- Vineyard restaurants pairing local food and wine
- Harvest season in September and October
Opening hours and tastings vary by producer; book ahead.
Living and investing near the route
The villages around the route appeal to people who want to live among nature or invest in vineyards and olive groves. Most plots here are agricultural land, so building rules, subdivision limits and shared titles must be checked before buying.
